So, who am I? Well, I’m Polly. Wife, mother, full-time employee about to start a new position for a company I absolutely love working for, half-time student working on a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, and I take care of my mother, who is battling multiple myeloma, a cancer that is treatable but not curable.
I’m an avid reader and crafter. I have far too many things I’d like to do and hobbies I pursue.
Currently, I’m knitting a top-down raglan sweater following Barbara G. Walker’s instructions in Knitting from the Top. I’m also working on the Campside Shawl by Alicia Plummer, but I’ve made a mistake somewhere and I’m having to tink back to find my mistake and fix it, so that is on hold. (To tink is to un-knit, knit in reverse if you will, for anyone unfamiliar.)
I’m reading papers for my classes and about 14 books at once, which I hear frustrates a lot of people.
- Fat Mom on a Mountain by Kriste O’Brien
- The Lost Art of Reading Nature’s Signs by Tristan Gooley
- The Nature Lover’s Quotation Book, published by Hatherleigh Press
- Jane Austen’s Garden by Molly Williams
- The Farmer’s Wife Homestead Medallion Quilt by Laurie Aaron Hird
- This Golden Fleece by Esther Rutter
- Peterson Field Guide to Birds of North America
- The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday
- My Life as an Experiment by A.J. Jacobs
- The Women by Kristin Hannah
Ok, not quite 14, but probably enough to make you question my sanity.
But it’s time to put the kids to bed, so goodbye for now.
