Lately

Posted on August 13, 2025 by Polly Hidalgo

Well, nothing ever goes to plan. My mother has a form of cancer called multiple myeloma. She came out of remission and had nearly three weeks of radiation on various tumors and lesions. She also started a new/different type of chemo & one day later broke her arm.

It all went downhill very rapidly & I had her admitted to the hospital last week. She has since had surgery replacing part of her upper arm bone, like a knee replacement, except for her elbow. She is recovering well and, from the sound of things, will be heading to a rehabilitation home in the next couple of days. She will spend a couple of weeks before coming home.

So, here’s hoping that soon, I’ll be able to get back to my sewing machine and not just items I can carry in my bag to the hospital an hour away.
